PM Promises Better Public Health

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Manet once again pledged to strengthen the quality of the public health sector to better serve the people. Speaking at the inauguration of the Choeung Ek sewage treatment plant in Meanchey district on the morning of December 27, the PM reiterated his administration’s commitment to improve healthcare in Cambodia.

"Last evening, an evening meeting with HE Chheang Ra and the working group to strengthen the local health and referral health centers… [We] prepared an action plan to implement and promote the organization of the centers to improve medical health for people and to make the equipment and medicine better quality,” he said.

He stressed that the seventh mandate of the Royal Government is committed to improving the health, capacity and livelihood of the people.

The Prime Minister also said that his administration’s Pentagon Strategy is focused on the well-being of the people through the social protection system and strengthening the level of medical care. However, he said that the government’s main priority is to grow the Cambodian economy.

"The most important step that the Royal Government must take to prevent the illness of the people is to work hard to increase the economy, create jobs, and increase income for the people so that nutrition can be good," he said.
